WHAT A DAY! FACT's 3rd CBC & Prevention Forum!

We had an incredible turnout at FACT's 3rd Annual Community Based Care and Prevention Forum. Dozens of attendees from across the region came together to discuss, collaborate, and network on how we can best keep Genesee and Saginaw County families safe, thriving, and out of the child welfare system. Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Mona Hanna was, as always, exceptional. The forum's panel was informative and engaging. Their passion was evident and motivated us all to make a difference.

The group sessions were dynamic and encouraged everyone to consider fresh perspectives on how we can make a difference. We shared the latest news on what is happening with FACT. The event and especially the group sessions were a great place for attendees to network with colleagues across the two counties. We have included video recaps and images from the event in this newsletter for those who want to review the highlights or watch if you were unable to attend.

We are excited to continue this important work and will reach out soon with the next steps. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of the event. We can't wait to do it again.

Thanks and see you again very soon!

OTHER UPDATES (yes we always have more)

OUR FIRST CAREGIVER DINNER!

An immense success and more to come! Our first-ever caregiver dinner in June was a fantastic success! Hosted at the Flint Public Library, the event brought together families invited by our partners to sit down for a meal and comradery. All the families (including the kids) shared their thoughts about community supports. Our families' insights and feedback were invaluable as we continue to work towards strengthening our community and providing the resources our families need.

We are keeping the momentum going so we have planned another two Caregiver Dinners, so be on the lookout for invites! Flint will host a Caregiver Dinner on August 15th. Saginaw's first Caregiver dinner is scheduled for September 25th with details coming out soon

STAY TUNED! MORE TO COME!

Event Vision: Community Based Care models have been shown to address the needs of children and families more effectively. Those involved in these publicprivate partnerships know what is happening at the state or local level, but have difficulty getting information from those in other states. They want to know what is working, insights, new ideas, and how models are maturing. This gathering of like-minded professionals provides the chance to collaborate, share insights, and explore what is possible.

Please Note: CBCW National Symposium is not an FFTA event. The Event Host is The National Center for Community Based Child Welfare. FFTA serves as the event management partner

When: September 17-19, 2024

Where: Hollywood Casino & Hotel At Greektown, Detroit
