FACT DECEMBER RECAP

December wrapped up with steady momentum across Genesee and Saginaw Counties. As the year has come to a close and we step into the New Year, we want to pause and say thank you to the families, partners, volunteers, and supporters who made this work possible in 2025.

Throughout December, FACT stayed active and visible in the community. FACT On The Go stops at R.L. Jones brought resources directly to families. Mobile Mondays, Holidays at the Hub, and Family Movie Time created safe, welcoming experiences for families to spend time together during a busy season. Loads of Love events helped ease everyday stress. Community Coffee Chats gave neighbors a place to talk, listen, and build trust.

This work only moves forward because of people who believe in keeping families strong and together. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated during the past year. Your support allows FACT to keep showing up, coordinating services, and creating practical solutions for families in both counties. As we begin the New Year, we invite you to consider making a gift to help keep FACT moving forward and meeting families where they are.

Below is a closer look at each December moment. As always, we will share more detail on each event and the impact it had on the families we serve.

Warm regards,

Bridgitt

YOUR GIFT MOVES THIS WORK FORWARD

We want to thank everyone who has already given in support of FACT. Your generosity strengthens families and keeps trusted community spaces open and active across Genesee and Saginaw Counties.

The FACT Forward Campaign is our $1 million capital effort to strengthen this work for the long term. This investment expands Hub services, improves mobile outreach, and helps us respond to the growing needs we see each week.

If you have already donated, thank you for being part of this effort. If you are considering a gift, we invite you to join us as we move into the next month and beyond. Corporate sponsorships are also available and support Hubs, mobile outreach, and family centered events.

December Community Events!

Caregiver Dinner – Saginaw County

Holidays at the Hub
December 11th, 2025 - Saginaw Community Service Hub

Holidays at the Hub in Saginaw brought families together for a fun-filled holiday evening. Our very special guests, Santa Claus, and his elves stopped by to meet with the children. Families shared a meal, spent time together, and took part in hands on activities like cookie decorating and crafts. A free family portrait gave caregivers a tangible memory, and the Hub provided a calm, familiar space families could rely on during a busy time of year.

Loads of Love FREE Laundry Day – Genesee County

December 16th, 2025 - ProClean Pierson Road

FACT’s Loads of Love Free Community Laundry Day on Pierson Road at ProClean Laundry provided families with up to three free loads of laundry. FACT covered washing and drying, and offered snacks to families. Many caregivers spent time talking with the FACT team about available resources and supports. Events like this remove a practical burden and open space for real conversation and connection. Special shout-out to Molina Health Care of Michigan for their continued support of laundry products for Loads of Love in Genesee County.

Community Event – Saginaw County

December 17th, 2025 - Wash King

FACT’s Loads of Love Free Community Laundry Day at Wash King in Saginaw provided families with up to three free loads of laundry. FACT covered washing and drying, supplied laundry products, and offered snacks while families waited. Caregivers spent time connecting with the FACT team and learning about available resources and supports; including education and literacy options. Meeting families in familiar spaces allowed for natural conversation and trust building.

FACT Family Movie Time - The Polar Express
December 22, 2025 - NCG Theater, Grand Blanc

FACT hosted Family Movie Time at NCG Trillium Theater in Grand Blanc for a showing of The Polar Express. Families received popcorn, caregiver bags, and enjoyed a surprise visit from Santa. Each child also received a "Believe Bell", just like in the movie, to take home.

The event gave families a simple, shared experience to kick off the holiday week and get excited for the days ahead. Thank you to Molina Health Care of Michigan for their continued support in making events like this possible.

December kept the momentum going across both counties

Mobile Mondays landed at Westdale Elementary with one of the largest turnouts we have seen. Families filled the space. Children explored books and activities while caregivers connected with trusted partners. We gave away personal care items, books, diapers and information about nearby programs. Blue Cross Complete served as the major sponsor and helped make the night possible.

Community Coffee Chats continued in both counties at Good Beans Cafe in Genesee County and SVRC Kravin' Cookies in Saginaw County. These small gatherings created steady space for conversation, listening, and relationship building with neighbors stopping in during their day.

FACT On The Go remained active throughout the month with multiple visits to the RL Jones Community Resource Center, including several outdoor events despite cold, rain, and snow. Families received pillows, paper products and personal care items, and information about nearby programs. These repeat visits helped us reconnect and stay responsive to community needs.

December also included a FACT Family Feast fundraiser at Qdoba in Flint. The event brought supporters together and helped sustain ongoing outreach and family centered programming. Thank you to all who came to the event!
