August was a busy and impactful month for FACT as our team connected with families across the region through a variety of community outreach events. In addition to our ongoing Community Coffee Chats in both Genesee and Saginaw Counties and Mobile Mondays with the Saginaw Public Libraries, we partnered with many organizations to support families as they prepared for the new school year

On August 21, FACT hosted our Putting Families First Caregiver Dinner at Funway Amusement Park in Saginaw. Families came together for an evening filled with connection, food, and fun on the putt-putt course. With pizza, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition, it was truly a night to remember. For some families, it was even their first time playing miniature golf, making the experience extra special.

On July 30th, FACT returned to Center Road Laundry in Saginaw for another Loads of Love event—a simple yet powerful way to lighten the load for local families. With the hum of washers and dryers in the background, families came together not just to do laundry, but to connect, receive support, and feel seen.

As clothes tumbled dry, conversations unfolded. Parents shared stories. Kids peeked into machines. Neighbors got to know one another….(more)

On August 19th, we gathered at ProClean on Pierson Road in Flint for another Loads of Love event. Dozens of families came out to take care of their laundry, share stories, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from spending time together. In partnership with Molina Healthcare, they provided custom laundry bags, detergent, and other supplies for families to use. These simple moments continue to remind us how powerful it is when families have space to connect and feel supported.

On August 14, FACT hosted the FORE the Family Caregiver Dinner at Cops and Robbers Great Escape in Genesee County. Families gathered for an evening designed to strengthen connections, share resources, and enjoy a night out together. The event featured plenty of fun—rounds of putt-putt golf, Roma’s pizza with their famous breadsticks, and hand-dipped ice cream that quickly became a crowd favorite. The mix of games, food, and laughter created the perfect setting for families to unwind and connect.

On July 23rd, Families And Children Together (FACT) welcomed families into the bright, modern space of the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library for an evening that was a little quieter, a little slower—and deeply meaningful.

On the evening of July 17th, families from across Saginaw gathered at Haithco Park for a simple, beautiful reminder of what community looks like in action. FACT’s Caregiver Dinner offered space for connection, fun, and a chance to just breathe—and thanks to the steady breeze, a sky full of colorful kites.

On the warm summer evening of July 15th, Families And Children Together (FACT) hosted a memorable Caregiver Dinner for Genesee County families at Physicians Park in Grand Blanc. This special event was all about connection. It brought together caregivers, children, and community members in a laid-back, welcoming setting designed to celebrate and strengthen the families we serve.

On June 26, FACT dove into summer with a splash—hosting a Caregiver Dinner and Swim Safety Night at the YMCA of Saginaw.

Families came ready for fun, learning, and connection. The evening kicked off with a free dinner, followed by swim safety tips led by experienced staff, and plenty of time to enjoy the indoor pool. Kids had a blast in the water while caregivers got the chance to learn important safety practices and build relationships with other families in the community.…(more)

FACT jumped on board with Molina Helathcare and invited our families too to the “Hooked on Community” Fishing Day—and it was an unforgettable experience…(more)

On May 29, families gathered at Wash King Laundromat for a chance to wash up to three loads of laundry—for free. We provided the detergent, softener, and dryer sheets, while families took care of what matters most. On a bright Saturday morning, FACT rolled up our sleeves and got to work alongside neighbors, volunteers, and community groups for Saginaw’s 5th Annual "Team Up to Clean Up" event.

Hundreds of families filled the St. Michael’s Event Center on May 9 for a joyful Community Baby Shower presented by Molina Healthcare. The event brought parents, babies, and community partners together for a day of support, celebration, and connection.

On Wednesday, April 30th, caregivers and families gathered upstairs at the St. Michael’s Conference Center in Flint for an evening of creativity, connection, and heartfelt appreciation during FACT’s Caregiver Dinner & Cardmaking Night.
