Loads of Love: Building Community One Laundry Day at a Time
On March 26th, we returned to the Court St. ProClean Laundromat for another “Loads of Love” Laundry Day—and once again, the spirit of togetherness filled the room. It was more than just a chance to wash clothes. It was a chance to breathe. To pause. To share space with others walking through similar seasons.

Finding Calm, Building Connection: Yoga & Caregiver Dinner in Saginaw
On March 20th, we hosted a calming and restorative Calm & Connected Yoga and Caregiver Dinner at the YMCA of Saginaw. Families came together to unwind, stretch, and breathe during a gentle beginner yoga session—no experience needed! We provided yoga mats and comfy space for caregivers and children to relax and recharge. Afterward, everyone enjoyed a healthy meal and meaningful conversation. The evening also included valuable insight and resources to support families navigating daily life. Events like this are designed to nourish both body and mind, while creating moments of connection within the community. Thank you to Molina Heath for supplying us with some Dental Health Resources that were shared with families. We are grateful to all who joined us and to the YMCA for providing such a welcoming space.

Celebrating Champions for Children at the 30th Annual Award Breakfast
On March 19th, FACT proudly attended the 30th Annual Children’s Champion Award Breakfast, hosted by one of our key partners, Voices for Children Advocacy Center. This powerful event celebrates individuals and organizations who go above and beyond to support children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Our CEO, Bridgitt McCaughey, had the honor of presenting the Caring Adult Award, recognizing someone who has made a lasting impact in the lives of local youth.

Glow Party Caregiver Dinner Shines a Light on Connection and Kindness
On March 18th, our Glow Party Caregiver Dinner lit up the night at the Elegant Way Event Center! Families enjoyed a free evening of food, music, dancing, arts & crafts, and more—all centered around building strong relationships and raising awareness about bullying prevention.
Children created glowing art, wore fun tattoos, and moved to the music with their families, while caregivers accessed meaningful anti-bullying resources. Everyone shared a delicious meal of Cottage Inn Pizza, and the energy in the room was full of joy and connection. We are especially grateful to our community partners who helped make the evening such a vibrant success!

Wash, Dry, Connect: FACT Expands Loads of Love to Saginaw
On February 27th, we held our Loads of Love Laundry Day in Saginaw, bringing this simple but meaningful event to families at Warwick Cleaners at 2121 Warwick Street, Saginaw. Thirty families came through, each able to wash and dry up to three loads of laundry at no cost to them.

Calm & Connected: Relaxed & Recharged at FACT Yoga and Dinner
On February 25th, families gathered at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library for a night of movement, relaxation, and connection. FACT’s Calm and Connected: Yoga and Caregiver Dinner gave kids and caregivers a chance to slow down, breathe, and be present together.

Food, Community, and Care: FACT’s First Distribution Day
On February 24th, FACT held its first Food Distribution Day, working alongside Catholic Charities of Genesee and Shiawassee Counties and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to provide essential food to families in our community. We were happy to serve 237 families, ensuring they had access to staples that many rely on to get through the week.

Building Community Through Connection: Our First Caregiver Dinner in Saginaw!
On February 20th, we hosted our first Community Caregiver Dinner at the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum! Families from all over the Saginaw community came together for an evening centered on connection, conversation, and positive experiences!

On January 30, FACT’s Rollin’ Caregiver Dinner turned Rollhaven in Grand Blanc into a hub of energy, excitement, and community connection! With over 100 community members in attendance, the night was a celebration of togetherness, fun, and a little bit of learning—FACT-style.

Strikes, Spares, and Smiles: FACT’s December Caregiver Dinner
On December 20th, families from across Genesee County braved wintery conditions and icy roads for a night of connection, competition, and community at B’s Bowling Center. FACT’s monthly caregiver dinner turned into an evening of laughter and strikes as over 114 attendees joined in the fun.

Festive Fun at the Flint Community Service Hub!
This holiday season was extra special as we celebrated our first Christmas in the Flint Community Service Hub! Our team came together to decorate our tree, sip on hot cocoa, and sing along to holiday carols. We even got creative, painting ornaments to add a personal touch to our space!
It was the perfect way to welcome the holidays and reflect on the community we’re building together.

VOICES FOR CHILDREN - November Parent Cafe
On Thursday, November 21, Voices for Children held a Parent Café with our friends from GISD's Great Start Collaborative and Parent Coalition. This gathering was a unique and profound opportunity for families to connect, share experiences, and build community support as the colder months set in. Not to mention the kids had a blast in the 'Kidtopia'!
FACT Opens a New Hub for Genesee County Families!
On November 19th, over 60 attendees joined us to celebrate the Flint Community Service Hub's OPEN HOUSE. Families, service agencies, legislators, and foundation representatives from Genesee and Saginaw counties toured our facility including the three themed rooms, 'Sunroom', 'Focus Factory,' and 'Kidtopia'. Each room was carefully designed to foster connection and support for families, professionals, and children. I was very pleased to see so many faces and feel the shared enthusiasm for our mission.

OCTOBER CAREGIVER DINNER
On October 22nd, we hosted our highest-attended Caregiver Dinner yet—and for good reason! Held at the beautiful Damouni Orchard, families enjoyed an evening featuring delicious pizza from Cottage Inn, fresh cider, donuts, pumpkins (donated by Damouni), and a twilight hayride. The event was filled with laughter and meaningful interactions, as families and our partner organizations had a chance to connect. We look forward to sharing details about our upcoming Caregiver Dinner in Genesee County at B's Bowling Center on December 20th!

CAREGIVER DINNER WITH GREAT START FAMILY COALITION
On September 22nd, we hosted another successful Caregiver Dinner at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library. It was filled with meaningful connections, mentorship, and of course—tacos! This event was a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, share experiences, and build supportive networks. We are grateful for our partnership with Great Start Family Coalition, whose mission aligns closely with FACT’s goal of ensuring families have the resources they need to give their children the best start in life. We look forward to continuing our work together!

CBCW National Symposium was a TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! Take a bow Michigan!
The 2024 Community-Based Child Welfare National Symposium in Detroit was an incredible experience, bringing together professionals, advocates, and community members to focus on innovative solutions in child welfare. The diverse sessions, engaging speakers, and collaborative discussions helped shine a light on the importance of community-driven care. It was inspiring to hear from leaders across the country who are dedicated to creating stronger, more supportive systems for children and families.


CAREGIVER DINNER AT LONGWAY
On August 15th, we hosted our second caregiver dinner at the Sloan Longway Planetarium in Flint. Families enjoyed pizza from Cottage Inn and shared insightful ideas for the design of our upcoming Hub. Suggestions include the importance of scent, music, and more. After the discussion, we attended the planetarium show about the Great Barrier Reef through the eyes of three marine friends. Fun was had by all, and the event was both engaging and informative!
