Food Smarts is a healthy eating program presented by the Crim Fitness Foundation and hosted at the North Flint Food Market. FACT partnered with Crim to help local families learn how to make healthy food choices while staying within their budget. This hands-on experience reinforced our commitment to strengthening family well-being through community collaboration.

During the Caregiver Dinner, Crim Fitness staff talked about nutrition, had a live; interactive food demonstration, shared simple cooking tips, and taught families how to plan meals and shop for healthy foods. Caregivers also took part in a guided grocery store tour where they learned how to compare prices, read food labels, and find the best value for their money without losing taste or quality.

The North Flint Food Market was the perfect place for this hands-on experience. As a community food co-op, it offers fresh fruits and vegetables, quality meats, and affordable grocery options. Instead of learning in a classroom, families practiced their new skills while shopping in a real grocery store.

Through partnerships like Food Smarts, FACT helps families build healthy habits, save money on groceries, and feel more confident when shopping for nutritious foods. FACT continues to connect families with valuable community resources that promote healthy living, financial stability, and long-term family success.
