On September 21st, FACT launched its first-ever 810READS Mobile Monday in Genesee County at the FACT Community Support Hub. The event brought families together for books, food, family resources, practical support, and a chance to connect with organizations from across the community.
Children picked out free books, families received take-home meal bags and household essentials, and community partners were available to answer questions and share information. Cottage Inn provided free pizza for children, which helped make the evening feel more like a community gathering than a resource event.
The first 810READS Mobile Monday marked an important step for FACT. After building the 989READS Mobile Monday model in Saginaw County, FACT brought the same idea to Genesee County with a focus on making support easier to reach. Families could come to one place, meet people face to face, find useful resources, and spend time together in a welcoming setting.
FACT plans to continue 810READS Mobile Monday as a regular way to connect families with books, support, and community partners throughout Genesee County.
