A Happy Holiday Update from FACT!

Season's greetings to you!

On behalf of Families and Children Together (FACT), we extend our warmest wishes for a happy holiday. We have some exciting updates and want to share them as we continue our journey forward with the Community Based Care (CBC) project!

Locally, we have worked in collaboration with our State Legislators. These key connections and ongoing efforts have established a robust and well-rounded group of community providers. This in turn has provided a clearer pathway for network and provider development that continues to grow. We are actively working with Judicial partners and influencers in both counties to build support for change in the court system. FACT extends a special thank you to Senator Ananich, Senator Horn, and Representative O'Neal for their efforts and shared vision to bring about a revolutionary improvement in the child welfare system.

FACT leadership attended and represented Michigan at the annual Community Based Child Welfare National Symposium (CBCWNS), this year in Kansas City, MO. As we collaborated with other experts from around the country, it reinforced our belief in the CBC model and its radically different approach to Child Welfare. FACT was asked to present this year and has been identified as a potential host in 2023!

Early 2023 is filled with tremendous opportunities for FACT to take yet another step forward. These include:

  • A symposium in Saginaw County

  • Established envisioning groups in key areas

  • Ongoing Operations enhancements

    • Case management technology

    • Education Initiative

    • Physical and Mental Health Initiative

    • Leveraging consultants for further operations and systems development and enhancements

  • Identifying and connecting with new legislative champions.

  • Fundraising efforts both public and private

As we bring 2022 to a close, we want to thank you for all of the support and guidance we have received. A special thank you to FACT Board Members for their many contributions. We look forward to continued partnerships in 2023 and beyond!

Thank you,
Bridgitt & Bob
