Sunshine, Support, and So Much More!
Dear Friends,
This month brought a powerful mix of community connection, statewide advocacy, and continued momentum for FACT.
On July 29th, FACT had the honor of testifying before the Michigan House Appropriations Committee for Labor and Economic Development. Joined by Representative David Martin, who generously introduced FACT, spoke passionately about the needs of the families he represents. We are incredibly grateful for his support, belief in our mission, and commitment to the people of Genesee County and beyond. FACT’s work is rooted in local solutions, and we are hopeful that this testimony helps fuel our plans to expand into neighboring counties and rural communities, where access to services is often limited.
Earlier in the month, FACT also had the opportunity to appear on WNEM’s Focus on 5 to talk about our Loads of Love event in Saginaw. Thank you to WNEM for helping us spread the word and reach even more families with this meaningful support. On July 30th, we partnered once again with Molina Healthcare at Center Road Laundry to provide families with free laundry services and supplies and a space to connect while the clothes tumbled.
We also hosted two joyful Kites and BBQ evenings. One at Physicians Park in Grand Blanc with Molina Healthcare, who brought ice cream and bubbles. The second at Haithco Park in Saginaw. Both were filled with kites, laughter, and meaningful moments between families and community members.
In Flint, we held a Calm and Connected Yoga session at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library, led by Felicia Campbell of the GISD’s Great Start team. Families enjoyed gentle movement and a healthy dinner in a beautiful and welcoming space.
Other pop-up events this month included Mobile Mondays at our Saginaw Hub with the Saginaw Public Library. We continued with Community Coffee Chats, held this month at Biggby Coffee in Flint and SVRC in Saginaw. These simple, informal gatherings continue to spark real conversation.
We are also thrilled to give you a first look at our brand new FACT On the Go trailer! A sneak peek is coming up later in the newsletter. Final graphics are being applied and plans are in motion to bring direct support into neighborhoods that need it most. If you are interested in bringing FACT On the Go to your community or organization, we would love to hear from you.
Thank you for standing with us and for being part of a community that believes in strong families, responsive care, and bold, local action.
Warm regards,
Bridgitt

July Community Connections!
Flint Caregiver Dinner – Genesee County
On July 15th, caregivers and families from Genesee County gathered at Physicians Park in Grand Blanc for an evening of fun. Molina Healthcare joined us with ice cream and bubbles, adding to the festive feel. The splashpad stayed busy, yard games were spread throughout the park, and kites soared overhead all evening.
It was a joyful and relaxed setting where families had the chance to meet, share stories, build new connections, and fly kites!
Saginaw Caregiver Dinner – Haithco Park
Families gathered at Haithco Park in Saginaw on July 17th for an evening filled with laughter, movement, and connection. Kids and caregivers enjoyed lawn games and picked out colorful kites to fly across the open fields. The kites easily took flight with the help of the breezy conditions.
The setting was relaxed, but the impact was real. Caregivers shared stories, built new relationships, and found common ground. Events like this help grow strong community roots and remind us how much families can offer one another just by showing up.
Calm and Connected Yoga – Flint Public Library
On July 23rd, families gathered at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library for a peaceful evening of movement and connection. Felicia Campbell guided children and adults alike through gentle yoga and relaxation techniques designed to calm the body and mind.
After the session, families enjoyed a light and healthy dinner together in the library’s beautiful, modern space. We are grateful to Felicia and Great Start for creating such a welcoming and supportive experience for all who attended.
Loads of Love – Saginaw
On July 30th, families joined us at Center Road Laundry in Saginaw for another Loads of Love event. While washers and dryers ran, families connected, shared stories, and picked up helpful resources.
Thanks to our partners at Molina Healthcare for being on-site and providing laundry bags. STARS helped support families with transportation. Great Lakes Bay Health fielded questions and provided resources for our families. These events are simple, yet powerful.
CHECK OUT BRIDGITT ON WNEM's Focus On 5!
