Sunshine, Support, and So Much More!

Dear Friends,

June began with a fantastic outdoor adventure with UAW Local 659, the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, and Molina Healthcare of Michigan. Hundreds of children and their families went fishing, kayaking, archery, and other outdoor sports activities, many for the first time!

Also in Flint, our Loads of Love event was a huge success. Families came out in full force, and thanks to our friends at ABC12, the impact reached even more households across the region. You can catch the coverage in the video linked below. Be sure to check it out and see some familiar faces!

In Saginaw, we hosted a fun Caregiver Dinner at the YMCA of Saginaw. Families enjoyed a meal together and then it was ‘splash’ time in the pool! Great family memories were made.

We also have some exciting opportunities on the horizon. Our Envisioning Group partners are shaping a brand-new training series launching soon. Stay tuned for more details.

Our Hubs are thriving with everyday activity. Families drop in for quick resource connections, organizations stop by for support, and we have reoccurring parenting time and sibling visits from our partner network providers. We regularly bring together workgroups and task forces that are focused on finding new, innovative ways to expand services and better meet the needs of our community.

We have ongoing events as well!

  • The Saginaw Hub hosts Mobile Mondays with Hoyt Library's Mobile Library Truck the second Monday of every month from 11am-1pm We have added food trucks and other community partners to share information as well. Come check it out!

  • Community Coffee Chats have been happening in Saginaw every third Saturday of the month at SVRC from 11am to 2pm. We are partnered with Krav'n Cookies and Coffee.

  • We are reviving the Community Coffee Chats in Flint in partnership with Biggby Coffee! We are meeting in Flint the second Thursday of every month. These small gatherings are a great way to connect, listen, and share what matters most. Check below for more details!

Thank you for being part of FACT. Your support makes all of this possible. Scroll down for more June highlights and to see what’s coming next.

Summertime Heats Up with FACT!

Casting Lines and Making Memories

FACT kicked off June with a full day of outdoor fun at a special event hosted alongside UAW Local 659, the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, and Molina Healthcare.

Hundreds of children and families came out to fish, and many for the very first time! The day was filled with archery, hands-on outdoor activities, and time together in nature.

The FACT booth featured a junior fishing pond just for the littles. It was perfect for our youngest adventurers to safely try out a fishing pole and feel the thrill of a tug on the line.

We are so grateful to our partners for helping create such a memorable experience.

Our Loads of Love event in Flint was a huge success! There is nothing like families bonding over fluffing and folding. Stories were shared, neighbors catching up, and reuniting with old acquaintances created a real sense of community. We were proud to serve many families and even prouder to have ABC12 there to help share the story. Molina Healthcare also joined us, providing laundry baskets and extra supplies to help families meet every day needs.

Our Makin’ Waves event made a big splash in Saginaw! Held at the YWCA of Saginaw, this special Caregiver Dinner brought families together for food, fun, and pool time. While caregivers connected and shared resources, children enjoyed the water and played in a safe, welcoming space. The evening was full of laughter and meaningful moments that reminded us of the positive impact of simple, shared experiences.

Our Sun Room is fully operational and is in a space on the main level of St. Michael’s Conference Center. Likewise, we have additional space temporarily at Catholic Charities Children’s Center.
