FACT SEPTEMBER RECAP (Copy)
FACT October Highlights: Connection, Community & Fall Fun October was full of energy, relationships, and community across our Hubs and neighborhoods! Here’s a look at what’s been happening:
Harvest Night & Halloween Fun - Genesee families came together for a beautiful fall evening event at our “Harvest Night” at Damouni Orchard. We also celebrated Halloween with the community at our “Halloween at the Hub” event in Saginaw. These gatherings brought laughter, creativity, and seasonal fun for all ages.
Coffee & Conversation - We gathered with neighbors for casual conversation at Good Beans Café in Flint and the SVRC Marketplace in Saginaw. Thank you to everyone who joined us. It is always wonderful to share stories and build relationships over a warm cup of coffee.
Loads of Love Laundry Events - Our Loads of Love events in Flint and Saginaw wrapped up another great month, helping families with clean clothes and fresh starts. These events continue to make a real difference for our families.
FACT On The Go - Our FACT On The Go mobile community resource unit has been on the move! Recent stops included the RL Jones Community Resource Center and St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center, where we met many new families and community partners. The resource unit continues to bring essential items and information directly into neighborhoods, making support easier to reach for everyone.
Busy Hubs, Thriving Spaces - Both Hubs have been buzzing with activity. From family meetings to community events and shared workspaces have been in use. We love seeing these spaces come alive! Remember, our rooms are open for free community use. Check our updated schedule anytime on our website for availability.
Thank you for being part of FACT’s growing network of families, caregivers, and partners. More events are on the way, and we can’t wait to see you soon!
With gratitude,
Bridgitt
CELEBRATING OUR FIRST YEAR OF IMPACT!
FACT is proud to celebrate one full year of community-based care across Genesee and Saginaw Counties. Together, we’ve built stronger families, safer homes, and deeper community engagement. Here’s what your support made possible:
10,000+ individuals reached through FACT’s programs and events.
514 unique families and 826 children helped with concrete supports and resources.
89% the family's initial goals/needs met within 30 days.
1,500+ people attended our Caregiver Dinners and community events, creating positive experiences and stronger social connections.
4,600+ individuals served through FACT On the Go!, delivering cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and other essentials right into neighborhoods.
2,150+ people utilized our Community Service Hubs in Flint and Saginaw. Both are safe, trauma-informed spaces for family time, meetings, and support.
349 families received concrete support assistance to prevent eviction, utility shut-offs, and other crises through special temporary funding.
989 Reads reached nearly 600 children through school partnerships, literacy activities, and hands-on learning.
Through it all, FACT helped families stay strong, engaged, and together proving that prevention works.
October Community Events!
Caregiver Dinner – Saginaw County
Halloween at the Hub
On October 21st, families gathered at the Saginaw Community Service Hub for a night of fun, candy, and community. Children came dressed in costumes, parents conversed with other families, and the Hub was filled with laughter and excitement. The event created a safe and welcoming space for families to celebrate Halloween together while exploring all that the Hub has to offer. FACT is grateful to everyone who joined in and helped make the evening a success and we look forward to even more gatherings that bring families together in joy.
Caregiver Dinner – Genesee County
Harvest Night at Doumani Orchard
On October 23rd, families came together for a cozy autumn evening at Doumani Orchard in Flint. Guests enjoyed hayrides, cider, donuts, dinner from Cottage Inn Pizza, and family-focused crafts! Each child picked out a pumpkin to take home, adding to the smiles and fall spirit. There was a chill in the air, but the night was full of warmth, laughter, and community. FACT thanks Doumani Orchard, Cottage Inn Pizza, and Molina Healthcare of Michigan for helping make this Harvest Night a success for so many local families.
We even had ABC12 stop by to capture the fun! Their story highlights how FACT brings families together for donuts, hayrides, a little joy, and some community. You can watch the full segment here:

Loads of Love Free Community Laundry Day ProClean - Court Street, Flint
On October 28th, families joined FACT at Pro Clean on Court Street for another successful Loads of Love event. With support from Molina Healthcare of Michigan, families were able to complete multiple loads of laundry at no cost taking home clean clothes, fresh bedding, and a sense of relief. The day was filled with friendly conversations, shared smiles, and the comfort of knowing that small supports like this can make a big difference for families working hard every day.
Community Event – Saginaw County
Loads of Love Free Community Laundry Day - Warwick Cleaners - 2121 Warwick St., Saginaw
On October 30th, FACT held another Loads of Love event at Warwick Cleaners and Coin Laundry in Saginaw. Families stopped in to wash their clothes, enjoy snack bags, and join fellow community members. The turnout was great, and FACT looks forward to bringing this free laundry and resource program to even more neighborhoods.
Schools, Mobile Mondays, and Community Connections
October was another strong month for outreach across our communities. FACT’s Mobile Monday event took place at the Houghton Jones Neighborhood Center in Saginaw, where families were able to meet with an incredible group of partner organizations offering food, books, activities, and support.
The FACT On The Go Mobile Resource Unit was also out in the community this month. The unit made multiple Thursday visits to the R.L. Jones Community Resource Center in Flint, a first visit to St. Luke’s N.E.W. Life Center, as well as our first venture into Saginaw County at the Mobile Monday event.
FACT joined the fun at the UAW Local 659 Trunk or Treat, celebrating Halloween with families from the neighborhood, and participated in the GHS Tailgate Experience at New Standard Academy, engaging with students and caregivers in a relaxed, festive setting.
Our Community Coffee Chats in both Genesee and Saginaw Counties continue to bring people together over a cup of coffee and conversation. Each chat gives neighbors a space to share their voices, build relationships, and help shape FACT’s work in the months ahead.
