FACT MARCH RECAP
Dear Friends,
At a recent event, a family shared something that has stayed with us. They told us they look forward to our gatherings because it is the only real time they are able to be together as a family.
These dinners give families a time and place to be a family. Without the need for cooking dinner, cleaning up or entertaining the kids, families can focus on fun times together. Families also learn about protective factors, make connections with other families, and learn about resources they can use right away.
We call them Caregiver Dinners on purpose. Families come in many forms. Grandparents raising grandchildren, relatives stepping in, foster parents, and even older siblings caring for younger ones. That is why families and community partners agreed together that naming it a 'Caregiver Dinner' makes it more inviting to all and celebrates those who show up every day to keep the family together.
These Caregiver Dinner Events also create Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE's). Time spent together as a family with positive interactions contribute to healthy child development. Research shows that these experiences build resilience, strengthen relationships, and help children manage stress and challenges over time.
Thank you for being part of this work.
Kind regards,
Bridgitt
FACT Back in front of State Appropriations Panel
FACT CEO, Bridgitt McCaughey spoke in front of the Michigan House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity on March 16th. She shared how FACT works with families across Genesee and Saginaw Counties, focusing on removing barriers, staying connected, and following through. The message was clear, this is what prevention looks like in real time through local partnerships, direct support, and strong coordination. Thank you to Representative David Martin, and Representative Jasper Martus for their support, and to the partners and families who continue to move this work forward.

COMMUNITY EVENTS IN MARCH
Mobile Monday
Saginaw County's Pop-Up
of Books, Fun, Food and Family Resources
March 9th, 2026 - Butman Fish Library
Mobile Monday at Butman-Fish Library brought families together for a beautiful evening focused on access, learning, and connection. Children had the opportunity to pick out free books and take part in hands-on activities, while caregivers connected with local partners and received clear, direct information about available resources.
Families were able to access essential items, hygiene kits, and on-site referrals to services that meet everyday needs. Events like this create a simple entry point for families to ask questions, get connected, and leave with something tangible.
This month also included art, creativity, and wellness activities, along with youth engagement led by Park and Play Mobile. These elements keep kids involved while caregivers take the time to connect and gather information.
Mobile Monday continues to bring resources directly into the neighborhood in a setting that is familiar and easy to access. The library provided a strong location for families to come in, participate, and engage at their own pace.
Thank you to Blue Cross Complete of Michigan for sponsoring this month’s Mobile Monday, and to the Public Libraries of Saginaw for their continued partnership in making these events possible.

Caregiver Dinner
March 25th, 2026 - FACT Community Support Hub
Crafting Kindness brought a close group of families together at the Genesee County Support Hub for an evening focused on time together and creating something meaningful.
After sharing a meal, every family member was able to design their very own egg. With helpful tips from Artdillo Studios, we were able to create an beautiful egg garland that we have on display at in our FACT Support Hub. There was a lot of participation and conversation.
