Calm & Connected: Relaxed & Recharged at FACT Yoga and Dinner
On February 25th, families gathered at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library for a night of movement, relaxation, and connection. FACT’s Calm and Connected: Yoga and Caregiver Dinner gave kids and caregivers a chance to slow down, breathe, and be present together.
The evening started with a gentle yoga session, where families stretched, moved, and let go of the day’s stress. Kids laughed as they tried new poses, and caregivers found a rare moment to focus on themselves. It wasn’t about perfection—it was about being together and connected.
We shared simple, realistic ways families can build calming nighttime habits, we read a book together, and practiced deep breathing before bed. These small routines help children feel safe, settled, and ready for restful sleep while also giving caregivers a chance to slow down and connect at the end of the day.
After yoga, everyone sat down for a meal, sharing food and conversation in a relaxed, welcoming space. It was a reminder that taking care of ourselves and each other starts with small moments like these.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to more nights of movement, connection, and good food!
