Food, Community, and Care: FACT’s First Distribution Day
On February 24th, FACT held its first Food Distribution Day, working alongside Catholic Charities of Genesee and Shiawassee Counties and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to provide essential food to families in our community. We were happy to serve 237 families, ensuring they had access to staples that many rely on to get through the week.
From the moment families arrived, the atmosphere was filled with energy and connection. Families picked out items that worked best for their households. Caregivers, including parents and grandparents, gathered food to share with loved ones, and neighbors helped each other carry bags to their cars. Volunteers and partners worked side by side, ensuring a smooth food distribution experience for everyone who came through.
This event wasn’t just about distributing food, it was about reinforcing the power of community-driven care. People must know that nobody should struggle alone, and when organizations come together with a shared purpose, real impact happens. Strong partnerships make this possible, and we are deeply grateful for those who helped turn this effort into a reality.
FACT is committed to ensuring families have the support, resources, and dignity they deserve. This was just the first of many efforts to provide practical, meaningful assistance to those who need it most.
To everyone who volunteered, partnered, or showed up—thank you. This is what community looks like.
