Harvest Night
5:00pm to 6:30pm
Damouni Orchards & Farm
2391 Reid Road
Flint, MI 48507
What an incredible evening at Damouni Orchard! Families And Children Together (FACT) welcomed families from across Genesee County on Wednesday, October 14th, for Harvest Night, an evening filled with pumpkins, hayrides, food, games, and plenty of familiar and new faces.
The orchard was full of activity as kids enjoyed the fall festivities and parents and caregivers had a chance to spend time together, meet other families, and connect with community partners.
We even had a special visitor! State Representative David Martin stopped by to say hello and spend some time with families.
Pumpkins, Hayrides, and Plenty of Smiles!
There was something for everyone at Harvest Night!
Kids enjoyed hayrides through the orchard, face painting, parachute games, and a little friendly competition with cornhole. The face painting was especially popular, with plenty of kids showing off their colorful designs throughout the evening.
Our friends at Cottage Inn provided a delicious dinner of pizza, breadsticks, and salad, while cider and donuts added a little more fall flavor to the celebration.
And, of course, there were pumpkins! Thanks to Damouni Orchard, every child had the opportunity to take home a pumpkin of their own.
It was wonderful to see families enjoying the activities together, kids making new friends, and so many people simply having a good time.
Community Connections Are Part of the Fun
Harvest Night was about more than pumpkins and hayrides. Like many FACT events, it was also an opportunity to bring families together with people and organizations that care about their well-being.
Sandy from ELGA Credit Union and Laura from MDHHS Foster Parent Recruitment joined us to share information, answer questions, and connect with families.
These relaxed conversations are an important part of what FACT does. Families can enjoy an evening together while learning about resources and opportunities available in their community, without having to make a separate appointment or visit multiple locations.
A Big Thank-You to Everyone Who Made Harvest Night Possible!
We want to give a special thank-you to Karen and the team at Damouni Orchard for welcoming our families and helping make the evening such a great experience.
Thank you to Molina Healthcare of Michigan for partnering with FACT to make Harvest Night possible, and to Cottage Inn for providing dinner for everyone.
We also appreciate our face painters, community partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped with the activities.
Most importantly, thank you to the families who joined us! We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting families who were attending their first FACT event.
We have LOTS of pictures to share, so take a look and see how many familiar faces you can find!
Missed Harvest Night? Join Us for Pumpkinpalooza!
If you were unable to make it to Harvest Night, we have another opportunity for fall family fun!
FACT is hosting Pumpkinpalooza in Clio on Wednesday, October 28th, with pumpkins, activities, seasonal treats, and more opportunities for families to spend time together.
