What Happened
On June 8th, FACT 989 Reads brought Mobile Monday back to the FACT Saginaw Community Support Hub for its first anniversary. What started as a small pop-up for Saginaw County families has grown into a huge, monthly, and mobile community event!
Families arrived to find free books for children, free on-site referrals, free student checking accounts, free family essentials, and free take-home meal bags. Hungry Howie's stepped up in a big way, providing free pizza for up to 50 kids. Families were able to sit down, eat together, and not worry about that night's meal. That kind of generosity matters, and we are grateful for it.
What made this event special was the number of partners who showed up. Organizations came from across Saginaw County to be there for families, side by side, in one place. Caregivers were able to meet with multiple organizations, ask questions, and walk away with real connections and real resources.

Why It Matters
Saginaw County families deserve access to real support without having to make five separate phone calls or drive to five separate offices. Mobile Monday puts it all in one place, on a Monday evening, in a welcoming space that is easy to access for all.
Literacy is at the center of what 989 Reads does, and free books for every child who attends is not a small thing. Reading at home starts with having books at home. Mobile Monday makes that possible, month after month.
One year in, the growth of this event reflects what Saginaw County partners are willing to do when they come together for families. FACT is proud to coordinate it, and proud of every organization that keeps showing up.
