Mobile Monday is a free monthly pop-up of books, fun, food, and family resources. It is presented by FACT 989Reads, and this month was held at the FACT Saginaw Community Support Hub at 3605 Davenport Avenue. On June 8th, Mobile Monday celebrated its first anniversary, and the Saginaw County community showed up to mark the occasion.
Families arrived to find free books for children, free on-site referrals, free student checking accounts, free family essentials, and free take-home meal bags. Hungry Howie's stepped up with free pizza for up to 50 kids, giving families a chance to sit down, eat together, and not worry about that night's meal.
What made the first anniversary special was the size of the network that gathered in one space. Organizations from across Saginaw County came to be there for families. Caregivers could meet with multiple partners, ask questions, and walk away with real connections and help. Even the Great Lakes Bay Health Mobile Vision Bus was there for vision tests. Sponsors included FACT On The Go and Hungry Howie's. Organizations from across Saginaw County were on site and available, including Public Libraries of Saginaw, Financial Plus Credit Union, Great Lakes Bay Health, ELGA Credit Union, and the Saginaw County Health Department. United Way provided personal hygiene bags, and FACT On the Go supplied household essential bags and take-home meal bags. Dozens of community friends joined us, including PFLAG, Head Start Saginaw ISD, and many more.
In one year, Mobile Monday has grown to become one of our most impactful, meaningful and fun events we host. FACT989 Reads is proud to coordinate it, and proud of every partner who keeps showing up for families.

FACT 989 Reads is FACT's early literacy and family education program serving Saginaw County. Mobile Monday is one of its flagship events.
