What Happened
On June 18th, FACT hosted Loads of Love at Wash King Dry Cleaners and Laundromat in Saginaw County. Families were able to complete up to three free loads of laundry per household and received free laundry supplies, with no cost and no paperwork required.
This was a close-knit event, and that turned out to be its own strength. Families spent time together, swapping stories while the machines ran, and FACT staff got real one-on-one time with each household. Strangers waiting on the same dryer became neighbors by the end of the afternoon. That sense of community, built in a laundromat on a Thursday morning, is exactly what FACT hopes to grow in Saginaw County.

Why It Matters
Laundry is one of those everyday needs that quietly adds stress to a family's week when money is tight or a working machine is hard to find. Loads of Love removes that stress for a few hours and gives families room to breathe.
These events also remind us why this work matters in the first place. When people come together, conversations happen, experiences are exchanged, and families have the space to talk with FACT staff and with each other. A laundry day becomes a community day, built by the families who show up.
Families And Children Together (FACT) is a non-profit organization serving Genesee and Saginaw counties. FACT provides wraparound services that help families navigate challenges and stay safely together. Services include resource coordination, community events, caregiver support, and connection to local partner organizations.
