Finding Calm, Building Connection: Yoga & Caregiver Dinner in Saginaw

Finding Calm, Building Connection: Yoga & Caregiver Dinner in Saginaw
March 20, 2025 – YMCA of Saginaw

On the evening of March 20th, FACT hosted a peaceful and grounding Calm & Connected Yoga and Caregiver Dinner at the YMCA of Saginaw, creating space for families to slow down, breathe deeply, and be present with one another. As families stepped into the welcoming gym space, the atmosphere shifted—away from daily stress and toward something restorative and refreshing.

Designed for beginners, the yoga session invited caregivers and children alike to stretch, breathe, and relax together. We provided all the mats and materials, so families only had to bring themselves and some comfy clothes. For many, it was their first time trying yoga, and the experience was both accessible and deeply calming. Children giggled through poses while caregivers found stillness—a beautiful balance that reflected the event’s name and intention.

After yoga, families gathered for a healthy meal and meaningful conversation. Between bites and laughter, we shared conversation for navigating everyday family life, including dental health resources provided by our partners at Molina Healthcare. The evening reminded us that wellness goes beyond physical health—it includes emotional support, shared experiences, and access to helpful information.

These moments matter. They build trust, foster connection, and give families a chance to recharge—together. We are deeply grateful to all who attended, to Molina Healthcare for supporting families with valuable resources, and to the YMCA of Saginaw for offering such a generous and open space to gather.

We look forward to more evenings like this one: grounded in wellness, filled with connection, and rooted in community.
