FACT is moving in! Preparing our NEW HUB for Flint Families this October!
It is with great excitement that we are finally ready to announce that FACT is in the final stages of setting up our new HUB at the St. Michaels Conference Center, located at 609 E. Fifth Ave., Flint (on the corner of 5th and Saginaw). We have 3 rooms in the beautifully reappointed lower level.
This new space is designed to serve as a welcoming environment for families and service providers as part of the Community Based Care Prevention program. At FACT, we know how crucial it is to create a supportive and comfortable atmosphere where children and families can connect with the resources and care they need.
With input from community members, network resources, and our research, we have thoughtfully planned every last detail of the Hub. From the calming colors on the walls to the gentle lighting, we have taken extra care to ensure that every aspect of the space promotes a sense of safety and comfort. Even the textures, surfaces, and subtle scents have been chosen to create a soothing experience for the children and families who will meet with service providers and community members in person at the Hub.
We look forward to welcoming the community into this space soon, and we are excited about the positive impact it will have as a resource for prevention and support. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to our grand opening!
Kind Regards,
Bridgitt
LOTS going on with FACT!
FACT in Your Community
We recently spoke with The Saginaw Area Neighborhood Association Action Group (NAAG) about CBC & Prevention and our plans for a future HUB in Saginaw. The interaction with the crowd was tremendous with valuable suggestions for potential Hub locations.
On August 16th, we attended the Voices for Children Family Fun Resource Fair at the Flint Farmer's Market. We managed the 'Hydration Station,' and were able to connect with numerous families and service providers from across Genesee County. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community and expand our network!
As always, WE WANT TO MEET WITH YOU!

CAREGIVER DINNER AT LONGWAY
On August 15th, we hosted our second caregiver dinner at the Sloan Longway Planetarium in Flint. Families enjoyed pizza from Cottage Inn and shared insightful ideas for the design of our upcoming Hub. Suggestions include the importance of scent, music, and more. After the discussion, we attended the planetarium show about the Great Barrier Reef through the eyes of three marine friends. Fun was had by all, and the event was both engaging and informative!

Symposium Website
Event Vision: Community Based Care models have been shown to address the needs of children and families more effectively. Those involved in these public-private partnerships know what is happening at the state or local level, but have difficulty getting information from those in other states. They want to know what is working, insights, new ideas, and how models are maturing. This gathering of like-minded professionals provides the chance to collaborate, share insights, and explore what is possible.
Please Note: CBCW National Symposium is not an FFTA event. The Event Host is The National Center for Community Based Child Welfare. FFTA serves as the event management partner.
When: September 17-19, 2024
