FACT JULY RECAP

Dear Friends and Community Partners,

July showed why this work matters. Recently, a few parents who are regular visitors to FACT activities were inspired to create parent support groups on their own. Crafted from their own life experiences, these creators intend to help others in the community prepare for the challenges they may face.

Examples like this, along with the continued support of our subscribers and community partners, are why we are excited to share that FACT received an appropriation in the State of Michigan's budget for the next fiscal year. This funding will allow us to continue and grow our work with families across Genesee and Saginaw Counties.

We would like to thank Representative David Martin for his unwavering support of FACT. We also thank Representative Jasper Martus, the chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Services, Representative John Roth, the Senate DHHS Appropriations Subcommittee Chairperson, Sylvia Santana, as well as the entire legislative body for believing in our mission and the families we serve.

FACT looks forward to attending many community and back-to-school events throughout August. We have included events taking place across Genesee and Saginaw Counties. Please review the newsletter, stop by our table, and say hello.

Thank you to every family, partner, volunteer, and supporter who continues to make this work possible.

Kind regards,

Bridgitt

FACT was active across Genesee and Saginaw Counties throughout July.

Our team joined the Bridgton Place Community Resource Fair in Saginaw, the Americans with Disabilities Act Celebration hosted by the Disability Network, the Gus Macker tournament with Flex High School, the Crime Stoppers S.H.A.R.E. Fair at Berston Fieldhouse, the 4th Annual Saginaw CAP Block Party, and the Parents Just Like Me parent support group.

FACT On The Go also returned to the R.L. Jones Community Resource Center twice during the month. We helped hundreds of individuals receive non-food household essentials, including bath towels and personal care products, alongside the work already being done by the R.L. Jones team.

August will bring many more community and back-to-school events across both counties. FACT will be present throughout the month, so there is a good chance we will see many of you while we are out in the community. To invite FACT to a community event, contact info@mi-fact.org.
